It was our routine drive to Jack In The Box, just my sister and I. As we pulled into the parking lot, my sister saw a homeless person sleeping on the grass. The only thing keeping that person warm was a thin blanket. I looked at the temperature gage on the dashboard and it read 46 degrees.
We placed our ordered and made our way through the drive thru lane. As we exited the restaurant, we were once again stopped in front of the homeless person. My sister parked the car and proceeded to take off her sweater. She got out of the car and grabbed a bag of food; she walked over to the person and left the sweater and food by their side.
We’re going back tomorrow and dropping off an old sleeping bag and thick blanket.
